The NJFOA Central Chapter Cadet Training Program is a structured course designed for individuals who want to become certified high school football referees. Whether you are a former player, coach, or fan, our curriculum provides the knowledge and field skills necessary to call varsity games with confidence.
Under the instruction of veteran rules interpreters and crew leaders, you will progress through classroom theory and on-field mentoring sessions. Successful graduates receive state certification and immediate placement for the upcoming season.
Eligibility & Course Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age or currently enrolled as a high school senior

Pass mandatory NJSIAA annual background check and clearance

Procure required officiating uniform and field equipment prior to field work

Commitment to weekly study and passing the NFHS rules exam (80%+ score)

Sprint Course StructureClasses held every Wednesday evening starting March 3rd at 7:00 PM.

Must achieve 80% passing score for state varsity credential
